Describe Your Nonprofit Experience

Before working at Provisio Partners, I worked mainly in the affordable housing field in permanent affordability. My passion for working in housing was ignited when I was a teenager volunteering for a group called Rebuilding Together Metro Chicago, where we worked one day in April each year (National Rebuilding Day) to make low-income seniors’ homes warmer and safer. This passion for housing pushed me to attend graduate school for nonprofit management with a focus in Community and Housing Development finance.

In grad school, I learned about the innovative permanent affordability program for housing called Community Land Trusts. My last 7 years prior to Provisio were spent working with Community Land Trusts as staff and also a marketing and salesperson for the HomeKeeper application, which assists Community Land Trusts in tracking their homeowners and impact.

What Do You Do In Your Role at Provisio?

I am a Senior Solutions Engineer on our Sales Team. I get to sit on all discovery calls before we engage with an organization to help determine a scope of work and budget for the Salesforce implementation. On these calls, we learn about each organization’s wants and needs in a system to provide a comprehensive scope of work to meet these requirements.  I also provide demos to organizations on what their potential Salesforce solution could look like.

What Do You Enjoy Most About Your Job?

My favorite part of my role at Provisio is getting to talk to new organizations each day. I meet with many different nonprofits that are providing so much value into the communities they serve. I love to learn what pain points nonprofits are seeing in their current processes and systems and helping them envision how these pain points can be addressed in Salesforce. I love being able to demo what the future in Salesforce could look like and helping guide  organizations through the often scary process of moving to a new database.

What Is Your Favorite Salesforce Product?

My favorite product in Salesforce right now is the Nonprofit Cloud Case Management (NCCM) application that Salesforce has created in the last few years for nonprofits. The class functionality in NCCM allows you to quickly and easily create and adjust classes, sessions and attendance.  This was a process that used to take me a lot longer as a former housing staff person, and the user interface now is so seamless for staff.

My favorite tool we have created at Provisio for our clients is our automated eligibility calculator. This calculator allows case management staff to see what other programs a potential client might qualify for across the organization, which makes service coordination easier and allows staff to serve a potential client across multiple programs.
