September is National Workforce Development Month. The government wanted to acknowledge that workforce development plays a crucial role in supporting workers and growing the economy. Senator Feinstein said, “Our resolution recognizes the vital role workforce development plays in growing America’s next generation of workers as well as supporting the advancement of current professionals looking for new employment opportunities.” (https://www.feinstein.senate.gov)
To celebrate Workforce Development month, we at Provisio are highlighting some of our clients who work every single day to foster prosperity and growth for individuals and communities through skills training, career exploration, and continuing education programs.
ICD
The Institute for Career Development, established in 1917, had the mission of helping wounded veterans of World War I improve their quality of life through vocational rehabilitation. Today, people with a wide array of disabilities or other barriers to employment come to ICD for support services, including evaluation, career exploration, direct skills training, work readiness training, and job placement.
Safer Foundation
Safer Foundation believes in an unobstructed road to reentry. Their mission is to stabilize support, employment, education, and advocacy that empower justice-involved individuals to achieve their true potential. Their Reentry Support + Wellness services help clients to overcome logistical hurdles and develop strategies, resilience, and motivation to navigate the road ahead.
Job Point
Job Point is Missouri’s premier employment center and Community Development Corporation. They link people and jobs through career planning and job placement assistance. They offer many services to marginalized community members, such as offenders, people with economic or educational obstacles, and people with medical conditions or developmental disabilities.
Teamwork Englewood
The mission of Teamwork Englewood is to improve the quality of life for residents and stakeholders in the Englewood community of Chicago. Through their Education & Youth, Health & Wellness, Housing, Public Safety, and Job & Economic Development programs, they work to improve the quality of life for Englewood families.
