October 10th is World Mental Health Day. The objective of this day is to raise awareness of mental health issues around the world and to mobilize efforts in support of mental health. One of the reasons we at Provisio love our work is because of who our clients are. We exclusively serve as Salesforce implementation partners for human services organizations that make life-changing differences in their communities.
Many are unaware of the importance of mental health on their overall health. According to the CDC*, depression increases the risk for many types of issues, such as diabetes, heart disease, and stroke. They provide these statistics on their website:
- 1 in 5 Americans will experience a mental illness in a given year
- 1 in 5 children, either currently or at some point during their life, will have had a seriously debilitating mental illness
- 1 in 25 Americans live with a serious mental illness
Provisio, as always, is honored to partner with human services organizations on their technology solutions so they can benefit from improved processes and more efficiencies, allowing them to serve more people. The organizations highlighted below offer a lifeline to individuals and their families through their expertise and compassion. In the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, “What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.”
Endeavors
Endeavors of San Antonio, Texas provides many support services, but one of their main focuses is on mental health. They are the largest provider of supportive services for veteran families. Their Veteran Wellness Center offers many programs: from physical and mental health to economic support. Their Fairweather Family Lodge was created to assist chronically homeless and mentally ill women and their children to help them create better lives for themselves.
As they state on their website, “We believe everyone has the capacity to grow, heal, change, and succeed.”
Gaudenzia
Gaudenzia aspires to connect individuals and families to addiction and mental health treatment so they can attain long-term recovery and achieve a fulfilling life embraced by a broad community of mutual support. Like Endeavors, they offer many services from Detox and Withdrawal Management Treatment Programs and Pregnant and Parenting Women’s Treatment Programs to Criminal Justice and Prevention Services.
Guadenzia is one of the largest non-profit substance use and co-occurring disorders treatment providers in the northeast United States. Take a look at their website for the interesting story behind their name.
Pacific Clinics
Pacific Clinics is California’s largest community-based nonprofit provider of behavioral and mental health services and supports. Provisio had the opportunity to co-present with Pacific Clinics at Salesforce’s Dreamforce conference this year on how we helped them automate processes using Salesforce and Mulesoft.
The highly trained, licensed staff at Pacific Clinics believe that recovery is possible. They serve everyone from children to older adults and offer mental health and support services in multiple languages. To learn more, read their inspirational stories of hope.
It’s Okay Not to be Okay
Dr. Craig Maki, Chief Strategy Officer of Provisio partners explains, “Providing the space ‘to be OK not being OK’ is the epitome of meeting people where they are and embracing the humanness to know some days are good and some are bad, but they are all days worth doing together.”
