Peninsula Volunteers, Inc (PVI) is an organization in Menlo Park, California with a simple but important mission: to enable seniors to age in place. This nonprofit has an interesting history. Decades ago, a group of women recognized the complex needs of their aging community members, long before this was an identified need in every community. They decided to create programs to provide educational and social opportunities to help seniors maintain vibrant human connections.

July is Disability Pride Month, celebrated annually to honor the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), which was passed in July 1990. Around 61 million adults in the United States live with a disability. Despite the Americans with Disabilities Act, true equality has not been achieved for individuals with disabilities, especially for those of color and those whose socioeconomic situation makes access to healthcare and other services challenging.
