Ongoing Support for Ongoing Innovation with Provisio: CASA of Travis County
CASA of Travis County promotes and protects the interests of children who have experienced abuse or neglect by empowering volunteers to advocate for their safety and well-being. CASA envisions quality advocacy, a safe home, and a promising future for every child in Travis County.
After completing an intensive training program, CASA volunteers are appointed to a child or family of children and spend an average of 15-20 hours a month advocating for these children for the duration of a case to ensure each child’s needs remain a priority.
Transitioning From a Limited System
CASA was on a system that did not allow them to create their own reports or export any of their data. It was highly customized, so any changes that they wanted to make could take months. They needed a flexible system that would allow them to scale and better support their volunteers. Salesforce was their solution, and Provisio worked side-by-side with CASA to implement their new platform.
Supporting Volunteers Through Portal Access
Provisio helped CASA build two separate portals on Salesforce’s Experience Cloud: one for applications (the information flows into Salesforce so CASA can do background checks on applicants) and one for their volunteers. Volunteers log in to the portal to see important information, like upcoming hearing dates; they can view their required continuing education hours and register for training sessions. Volunteers can also enter case notes when they visit the child’s family, teachers, and caregivers.
Continuing Partnership With Provisio
CASA went live with Salesforce in 2022 and chose to continue their relationship with Provisio through our Managed Services offering. As part of these services, CASA meets weekly with Provisio for guidance and thought partnership. Provisio mentors CASA’s system administrators to help them develop their Salesforce skills and offer technical support, such as creating flows that enhance the user experience for volunteers. Their most recent project is gamifying volunteer training. When volunteers complete desired tasks in the portal, they will earn a badge, making the learning process more fun and engaging.
